RoriSang releases new single, Motswedi
Sultry songstress Rorisang Emeldah Kelatile, popularly known as RoriSang, recently dropped a new single titled Motswedi.
The song was produced by renowned producer, Charles Favi Motsemme.
RoriSang recently told Vibe that the song has a metaphorical meaning in the sense that she was inspired by the concept of overcoming a dry spell in one’s life, only to later experience joy.
“Where I come from in Kanye, there is a spring (motswedi) behind our house which had run dry for several years but recently started flowing again. As I watched the water trickling down the hill after many years of the area being parched, and seemingly barren, the vegetation besides it started to flourish a few days after that, and the ground was pulsing with life. “This experience correlated with an experience in my life, where after many years of feeling emptiness and nothingness, a certain event had triggered renewed joy and positivity in my life, and sprung me back to life. This is when I started writing the song in 2019, fusing it with my experiences.”
RoriSang said the creation of the song was a beautiful process, particularly as she and Favi explored different harmonic styles/rhythms, in order to produce a melodic sound that gives a magical physical experience as well. “The idea was for people to not only hear the song, but feel through it as well. I want the listener to take from my experiences, and learn that even after a period of ‘drought’ in any aspect of your life, go sena nko e tswang lemina… at some point, things will work out and get better because ga go ke go senyegela ruri.”
