GET CLEAR SKIN FREE FROM DARK SPOTS

-

We all want clean and fresh skin and achieve a flawless look without layers of make-up, don’t we? The whole ‘I woke up like this’ skin that you can rock confidently, without needing to apply make-up all the time.

Ass we get older, we tend to collect more discoloration and freckles. Although our melanin gives us some protection for the sun, over the years, it adds up, especially if we don’t sunscreen or any other form of sun protection.

Blotchy pigmentation often starts on the forehead, and spreads to the cheeks, around the mouth and sometimes on the nose. These dark marks are sometimes called ‘ditshubaba,’ and are the result of poor skin care.

Instead of using make-up to cover these marks, you could consider taking better care of your natural skin using the following tips:

1. Cleanse and moisturise your skin daily. If possible, make it a routine to use a good quality facewash, a toner and moisturiser of at least SPF15.

Always wear sunscreen when you go outside, even if it is cold or cloudy because the sun’s Uv rays harm the skin.

If you develop acne, treat it early because in the long-term it might cause scarring that would leave dark marks on the skin. Avoid using many different products. Sample a few products and choose one to use. Don’t mix brands, and always stick to buying your products from reputable stores and not on the black market and streets.

5. Consider professional treatment for hyperpigmentation on your skin.

6. Try by all means to eat a balanced diet. Your lifestyle is usually reflected on your skin and your choice of food can aggravate your skin’s condition or improve it. As often as possible, opt for fruit and vegetables, and also drink a lot of water (at least two litres per day). Also limit the consumption of oily and sugary food as they have adverse effects on your skin. If you have skin with dark spots, you might consider using a noncomedogenic 2. 3. 4. 7. cleanser to prevent further skin problems.

8. Limit the use of make-up to special occasions. Using make-up daily might be “cute” but it clogs the pores on your skin and can lead to acne, which in turn causes dark spots.

**** If you can afford to splurge, you might also consider getting chemical peel treatments, or any good quality skincare products that are made for brightening the skin.
