- BY KABELO GADISE

Twins Khumo and Katlego Mmipi are making strides in the entertainment industry, dabbling in advertising, modelling and music. The talented duo have their heads in the right space and are confident that things will work out for well. They recently told Vibe that despite being multi-talented, they have always had a love for music for a long time.

“Singing has been our hobby since we were in Standard 5 and we used to sing at church and were part of the praise and worship team,” they said.

Katlego said having identified their passion, they decided to take their talent to the world, and last year they collaborated with Justice Joseph and dropped a new single titled Never let me go.The praise and worship song is about celebrating God and His greatness.“The song talks about God and how important He is to all of us, and that we don’t want to let him go.We praise God because he took us muddy clay and formed us to be what we are today… He is a good of greatness, a God of miracles, a God of healing, transformation and elevation,” they said.

Katlego however noted that they don’t only do gospel, but also house music and love songs.

“This is because we want to be versatile and also work with different artists in order to improve our craft and grow as artists. We also want to cater to the tastes of various fans because everyone out there has a different genre which they prefer listening to, so we made the choice to keep up with the trend,” she said.

The twins expressed excitement over their first ever gig on 27 November, where they will be performing at the Miss Phikwe 2021 pageant that will be hosted at the copper mining town.To add cherry on top, the two performed live on Pula Power television show this past Friday.

The talented two said that going forward, their dream is to collaborate and work with the likes of ATI, Charma Gal, Amantle Brown, Han C and Sal Angel, among others. They also want to work with producers who include DJ Amobeats, Latimmy, Flexitheninja, Suffocate, Thapelo wa mojuta,Thomas Chilume and DJ Gouveia.

Understand …

I don’t really wanna die,

Just feel like living ain’t better, And how I really feel, ain’t what you see in the filter, And that’s my fault,

Don’t wanna let you get deeper…

Wonder how it feels to be sad sometimes,

And be happy more times,

A taste of it would be better than never, Better than the feeling of desolation, Better than being good at acting out a persona you can only wish to genuinely have

Better than lying that you’re OK when you’re not,

It would be better than - My entire reality…

Heart breaks and throat aches, Damn my soul needs saving,

I’m out here venting on a beat, You’d probably rather hear me, Talking about bitches and money, Or talking about something funny , So I apologise,

I just wish that you would understand…

Understand…

I got siblings I love and I know they love me too,

I just wish that I felt it,

And not feel misplaced,

Wish I believed in the words,

I always say to the broken,

And not feel undeserving, Wish I could erase my depression, And finally be happy,

I hope my fam would understand, That I didn’t choose to be like this, I just happened to be unlucky…

Understand…

I don’t even know how to feel, I’ve exhausted my emotions, NAKED by Seabo Magole

All because of the hoping, Now I’m just left hopeless, Found out it was pointless, Used to reach out to the world, Hoping at least I be appreciated,

For being a kind soul despite the shit thrown,

Guess I’m just not enough nor worthy, But I still wish for appreciation,

For being loving,

Even though it ain’t reciprocated…

I just wish you would understand, I don’t know why I’m living, Wish you would understand,

I don’t even know why I cry at night, Why should it be like this,

I guess I deserve it, Although I don’t know why, Wish you understand,

That I

Whats the point of it all You can’t understand…
