Palesa beams at 2AM
At exactly 0200hrs tomorrow, (Thursday) local time, Botswana’s beauty queen, Palesa Molefe will strut down the Miss World pageant runway. The fairest of them all will be picked amongst the rest and crowned the face of the world.
Botswana, like the rest of the 40 countries participating at the Miss World 2021 Finale, is nervously monitoring developments in Puerto Rico.
It has been an intense one for Palesa throughout her Miss World journey but through it all, she has been nothing short of amazing. The 23 year old from Mochudi has done everything in her power to awaken Botswana’s interest in beauty pageants. Never has it happened before that the general Botswana public rallies behind one of their own like they are doing with Palesa. For a moment there, the country has been firmly united and believing without doubt that she has all the hallmarks of a world queen. And it is not only looks that she is bringing to the table, Palesa is such a genius! Palesa is a young lady so much rooted in culture, she has shown that she can pretty much adapt in any type of environment. She has traversed the dusty and sandy roads of Botswana and guess what, like a little girl, she even slid down the sand dunes bare footed. She has ridden camels and danced to traditional songs putting on animal skin attire. Palesa is truly passionate and has a warm big heart. So big she cannot hide it.
At her tender age, she has shown much wisdom. She speaks with eloquence such that those around her usually quiver and doubt themselves. And she would crack up in laughter, not because she is arrogant or intentionally intimidating others, no. The Botswana queen is forever free spirited and full of life.
Most Batswana are expected to stay awake tonight glued to their screens to witness Palesa doing what she knows best. And remember if she wins, she will burst into wild ululations.
