Botswana cursed to have Tsogwane as Vice President - Mmolotsi
Mmolotsi, the Vice President of the Alliance for Progressives (AP).
“I am a better vice president than Slumber. I should be the one tasked with winding up Parliament business not him. We do not have leaders at Botswana Democratic Party (BDP),” Mmolotsi said. He said this at the launch of Peter Mogapi of the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) who is contesting the Bophirima council ward in Gaborone. Mmolotsi urged Bophirima ward voters not to think about voting BDP back into power, saying they did that in 2019 through Kagiso Mongwaketse who died early this year, resulting in the current by-election. “You voted them in power in 2019 and you are now getting fried and burnt. You cannot reverse that mistake until 2024 but you can make a difference now by trusting our presidents Ndaba Gaolathe (AP) and Dumelang Saleshando of BCP.” He said that the combination of Ndaba and Saleshando equals brilliance. He went on to even bash President Mokgweetsi Masisi saying he is full of drama.“O mo drameng, he is acting, the economy has collapsed but he is busy gallivanting and playing dice with former president Ian
Khama. His work is just Khama now. He must transcend and lead us, we need to be led,” Mmolotsi said. He said the likes of Mogoditshane MP Tumiso Rakgare and Tumisang Healy of Gaborone Central do not deserve to be in parliament. Meanwhile, when launching their candidate Onkemetse Mothei, the BDP said through Tsogwane that all the opposition parties know is to fight hence they are now divided ahead of the upcoming by-election. He said the BDP is ready to continue putting Batswana first and fighting corruption. Member of Parliament for Tonota Pono Moatlhodi concurred with Tsogwane saying opposition members are disrespectful and ill-mannered to be trusted with power. Moatlhodi said opposition MPs have insulted almost everyone in parliament because that is what they know best.
