DISS HAS NO BUSINESS IN DCEC AFFAIRS

-

Evidential Integrity is a massive component of an investigation. All he wants is to protect and preserve the integrity of the evidence from DISS and placing it under the custodian of the court registrar is the best thing he can do. Evidential integrity is such a crucial component of any investigation and when it gets questionable, the case will begin to fall into pieces; it could be a deciding factor and that’s why chain of custody when handing evidence is equally important.

Maloba ke kile ka botsa gore what legitimacy does the DISS has to force its way into DCEC offices looking for files which are under the custodian of the DCEC because as an investigative institution, DCEC has the reasons under the law to refuse access to DISS as long as they can legally justify so; only the DCEC DG can either authorise or deny any access to his office. This could include the President himself. If Katlholo feels gore such files should not be accessed by anyone except the DPP then that should be respected.

DEA, CIA, or department of homeland security cannot just rock up at FBI offices and demand a case file for a particular suspect; neither can the FBI do the same to them. There are procedures and processes under the law on how intelligence is shared including cases under investigations amongst law enforcement agencies. There should be a clear code of practices and guidelines on all these matters.

What DISS wants and has always wanted and done before is to destroy what incriminates and implicates bagolo including themselves and try to make it look as if bangwe ke bone ba ba molato and this has led to all cases collapsing before the courts. …. Let us be crystal clear, MAGOSI is not a supervisor the Police commissioner and DCEC Director. He is just an employee like them with different mandate or similar mandate. One enjoys having a good relationship with the President and working directly for him. [VELLY MPOPELANG]

TAKING SIDES ON DCEC/ DIS ISSUE IS PATHETIC

Our country has truly gone to the dogs. Or as someone put it recently, the dogs may have come to the country. Perhaps even worse, after ravaging the past gains of the country, some of the dogs have run away to bark from a distance where they have wiped off evidence of their pillage and plunder. It is sad however to see politicians and their followers taking sides and celebrating according to how they wish the political narrative to navigate. Our political inclinations have blinded us completely, on what is important and what is actually entailing in our country. The latest issue of the DCEC and DIS is a clear indication of how far we have gone as a country and sadly, how naïve and excitable we have become as the country’s citizens. Really what is there to celebrate? Many are excited by the thought that Katlholo has dealt a blow to the DCEC by seeking the intervention of the courts in guarding files that are wanted by the DIS. Others have been equally excited that the DIS was on the verge og nabbing Katlholo for sitting on files that could implicate bagolo, past and present. What is important here is that corruption has been going on in the country with the full knowledge of those who are supposed to tackle it, but for their own reasons, they have decided to keep quiet about it until it becomes convenient to them to tell us about it. Why has the DCEC been sitting on evidence only to snitch on it when the DIS wants to open their offices? It is clear we are led by rogue institutions out there to serve their masters while we, the ordinary folks suffer. And we have the intelligence to celebrate either of the two? We are pathetic!
