Family has rejected forensic report Do not believe granny was killed by wild animals Her clothes were found intact, with no blood

The 71-year-old Baitshepi Phirinyane of Kanye whose bones and clothes were found in the bush on the 16th September 2022 is yet to be buried, more than two months later. Phirinyane went missing on the 14th August this year and following an intensive search that covered most of the Ngwaketse area, a few bones suspected to be hers were found a month later and taken for testing.

Police spokesperson Dipheko Motube told The Midweek Sun this week that they have given the family a forensic report that confirmed the bones belong to Phirinyane.

However, the family has since rejected the report.

“We have asked that they bring their own pathologist who will work with us so that the matter is concluded, they have not done so yet,” Motube said, explaining that they are still holding onto the bones while waiting to hear from the family.

“I can confirm that we have not yet buried my mother, there are things that we are working on which I cannot speak to at the moment. We will talk when ready,” Phirinyane’s son Edward, said.

The Midweek Sun has been reliably informed that the family is not happy. It is alleged that contrary to the position of the police that Phirinyane was killed by wild animals, the family still refuses to conclude so as her clothes were found intact in the bush, without any stains nor any tear.

The family allegedly want the police to dig deeper, they wonder what could have eaten their mother to a point that only a few bones could be found.

Edward told this publication back in August that on the day his mother went missing, she had gone to Salvation House Church in Kanye at the invite of a neighbour.

“We do not know what then happened there but what we have gathered is that after church, the neighbour was dropped at home by church members while my mother remained behind for religious lessons.”

However, his mother was nowhere to be found after church when class began and was never to be seen alive again.
