The smell of burning rubber screeching across tarmac and the visceral smell of high octane petrol will be centre stage early next month when some of the best spinners in Southern Africa put on an action packed motorsport event.

The Botswana Motorsport season kicks into gear next month when Botswana Spinmasters club hosts an action pact show themed 4.0 bash on 4th February. Death defying stunts and high pitched exhaust notes will be on full display when up to 30 talented car spinners and their stunt teams will be expected to grace the event scheduled for the Fairgrounds parking lot in Gaborone.

One of the event organisers, Russ Peloyame from Botswana SpinMasters said they are expecting 15 regionally popular spinners from South Africa, including a Team Saluki, who will be headlining the show. “Team South African spinning sensations consists of U20 performers that have been thrilling fans across the region. There will be other spinners on the day from South Africa, including Shaeen, Scorpion, Shakes, K7 , Panjaro, Renzo and Mano and Katra,” Peloyame said.

In addition, Peloyame said the audience should expect to be thrilled by local spinning celebrities like the crowd pulling General, the talented Magistrate, Vmud,Timpower, Stunner, Saatane, TebMoch and Ginimbi. Peloyame said they initially planned for a small show but the demand has been high from car spinning fanatics. Furthermore, Peloyame said they will be strict with crowd control during the event and security will be adequate to keep their supporters safe.

Moreover, Peloyame said they have invited the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund, to come and sensitize their fans not to emulate the professional drivers by driving recklessly on public roads. MVA will be there to sensitize supporters to maintain road safety. The MVA will have their own stall at the event and they will have time to address our audience during the event. The spinning event will be sponsored by Mamillion’s Empire (PTY) Ltd, a farming produce company based in Gaborone.
