BOB PHOTOGRAPHY REINVENTS ITSELF

- IRENE SHONE

Director and owner of Bob Photography, a local film house, Ontlametse Mokhwela says they aim to consistently transform and reinvent themselves with time.

He is proud that they have so far lived up to their slogan, ‘We bring creativity to life’ by ensuring that they capture people’s memories excellently.

Bob Photography is well known to have shot music videos for legends like Vee Mampeezy when they broke into the industry in 2017. Over time, they have also managed to create a good reputation for the company, capturing people’s special moments including weddings, graduation ceremonies, bridal showers and baby showers.

Mokhwela says they have recently shifted more to corporate photography, something that he says sets them apart from other photographers.

“The fact is that photography is growing at a faster pace in Botswana. There are so many photographers these days and street photography is also high, so we had to reserve a niche market for ourselves as Bob Photography,” he said. He now works closely with FNB, Duma Fm, Torch Studio and New Visuals to mention a few. “We have partnerships with quiet a number of corporates around, and also work with different agencies,” he added.

He also noted that they have recently introduced live streaming for corporates, funerals and for different parties. His live streaming video events include, Born and Raised 2022, FNB, as well as SADC meetings. While he is happy that the industry is growing, he is disturbed by poor quality. He is proud to have started receiving photography bookings from South Africa. Bob Photography has also made their mark by giving back to the community. They recently started donating groceries to less privileged families, and also donated 500 sanitary pads to schoolgirls at Boitshoko Junior Secondary School in Molepolole.
