In the spirit of thanksgiving

- LAME LUCAS

Muti Mushimehi and Joseph Motshwarakgole have dropped their single, ‘Re a boka.’

This is a song of Thanksgiving, and it comes after the tribulations of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mushimehi tells Vibe that as a new entrant in the entertainment industry, the debut song is meant to thank God for her protection and sustenance during the pandemic.

“We faced a lot with the pandemic and being kept and alive in that era where a lot of lives were lost is a blessing. So I had to release this song. It is about the grace of God ‘mohau’ being sufficient all the time,” she explained.

She is a gospel artist from Letlhakeng Kanye and recently decided to go professional. She started singing at a tender age and was influenced by her Christian background.

“I have always been singing as I would often do it from church, and I have now finally decided to take my music to the people by turning singing into a career,” she said.

She has been on stage with several regional artists and has also done backing vocals in and outside studio. In this song, she features Joseph Motshwarakgole, a prominent worship minister and a Vocal Coach. He has been a part of the ‘We Must Praise ensemble with vast experience. The song was produced at Extol Multimedia Studios in Gaborone by Siyabonga Matshelela, who also programmed, mixed and mastered it. Extol seeks to equip and give platform to many upcoming musicians in different genres. Musimehi said there would be a live video shoot for the song to be released in April this year.
