Moshupa man kills girlfriend, shares room with corpse for days before burning it

-

In a bizarre twist of events, a native of Moshupa village recently killed his girlfriend, took some days living with the corpse in the house before eventually burning the body.

The deceaded woman, identified as One Gobusamang, was buried last Friday in Moshupa.

Confirming the unusual incident, One’s Uncle, Sekgoa Gare, said they were told by the police that One had been killed and her body burnt by her boyfriend in Modimela ward, on the other side of Moshupa village. They heard that One’s boyfriend, identified as Bakang Mothogaesi, was seen burning carpets and a mattress in the yard, yet the stench that came out of the burning items was unusual awful, making the people nearby uneasy and curious. At that point, and strangely, smoke was also seen coming out of the windows of the house, suggesting that something was also burning from inside the house. The curious onlookers began to gather at the homestead but Bakang allegedly warned them not to come anywhere near his house, at which point the police were called and that it is how it was discovered that what was burning inside the house was the body of a human being. Reports say he had put One’s body in a bath tub and her head and legs were left hanging outside the tub. He then set fire on her.

Gare revealed that only the head and legs did not burn to ashes but were left charred. “There is actually no body, what is left is just bones that easily break when you touch them,” a devastated Gare said. To this day, they do not know why Bakang killed One in such a barbaric way. The uncle said that One had been living with her boyfriend Bakang at his place together with their 8-month old baby. One’s mother died when One was still a baby hence she was left in the care of her grandmother. “Soon after giving birth, One went to live with her boyfriend. The child is still very young and we hear allegations that she was killed in full view of her baby. It seems he killed her on Saturday or Sunday, he stayed inside the house with One’s dead body until Tuesday when he was seen burning items. It is alleged that in those few days, Bakang was seen sending some boys to the nearby tuck shop to get him milk for the baby, we guess the little one was hungry,” Gare continued. Moshupa station commander, David Ramoseki confirmed that Bakang was arrested that Tuesday night and was arraigned before court two days later and has been remanded in custody. When The Midweek Sun sought to find out more about Bakang by visiting his family, it was all in vain as the family refused to share anything about one of their own, especially the murder incident. Bakang’s aunt and uncle washed their hands clean off the matter, saying they have nothing to say as they are equally shocked like anyone else. “We know nothing, we just got called like anyone else to find that Bakang is alleged to have killed his girlfriend,” they said. According to residents of Moshupa, Bakang is the son of a former police officer, his mother is alleged to have died a few years ago. “The mother left him the house he was living in with his girlfriend. We are not sure what got into him but the family knows that he once threatened to kill that girl,” some of the neighbours said. They are disappointed by what Bakang has done, noting that his mother spent money sending him abroad, thinking by investing in her child’s education, he would grow up to become a responsible and successful man. “He studied in Canada. It is suspected that the guy was probably on drugs,” one neighbour said.

Heelang! Kante what has so far happened ka sekoloto sa data by that prominent government employee? How far has he gone? If you haven’t yet heard, let us tell you: A former government employee whose telephone bill of P600 000 apparently had to be paid to an internet data and telephone service provider by the State was last year instructed to pay back the money to Govvy. And in an interesting twist, the employee allegedly agreed to pay back the money, but offered to pay P200 per month until all the money is recovered. Looked pretty normal at glance, until one had to work out how long it would take for the former diplomat to service the debt. In one year, he would only manage P2400. If you are to divide the P600 000 by P200 to determine how many months it would take the government to recover all its money, your answer will be… you got it right – 3000 months! Okay okay, let’s look at the number of years it would take to pay back all the money. Yep, 250 years! And magatwe a re the person who owes this money has the age way greater than 60 years already, and even if God were to grant him 60 more years to live, he would die even before servicing half of the debt. The family of this unfortunate soul must be wondering what would become of their loved one’s assets should death knock before age 100. But then again, how does a service provider allow accumulation of such a bill just because one has forgotten to switch off his mobile data? The selfishness and heartlessness of some businesses really? And to imagine they would have lost absolutely nothing to call off the debt! Now Govvy will not be able to recover all that money.
