...as Holy Ghost entertains GU

- BY SUN REPORTER

On form Mmopane based side Holy Ghost will continue their fight to remain in the league when they face Botswana Football League (BFL) giants, Gaborone United at the Molepolole Sports complex this afternoon(Wednesday).

Holy Ghost, who have been fighting tooth and nail to remain in the league and attracted a lot of attention in their relegation battle, will want to upset league defending champions, Gaborone United.

The team has been enjoying a scintillating form lately, and has played three games on the trot without a defeat; the last time they tasted defeat was on April 1st when they lost 0-2 to Security Systems.

Moreover, the return of Kgomotso Kgopegang has been a plus for coach Philimon Makwengwe as the impact player came in from the bench in their last game against Nico and assisted twice. Makwengwe will be hopeful that the player carries the form to this match.

Another player enjoying a great run in the Ghosts colours is Patrick Kaunda who has been leading the line with his wealth of experience. This has influenced young players like Kabelo Babusi to join in the party and bring in goals when necessary.

Coach Makwengwe will be playing against his former side and he understands the dangers they can cause on the day. He will therefore be cautious with his game plan, probably come up with the approach he put up against Orapa United where they maintain their shape in defense and pounce on the counter.

This game will be important for the side since they are three points away from Prisons XI. They have accumulated 19 points so far while Prisions are on 22 thus a win for Holy Ghost will mean they are out of the relegation zone for the very first time. However, GU on the other hand are 5 points away from log leaders, Jwaneng Galaxy who face Sua Flamingoes. Despite their inconsistency the Old Naledi side have to close the gap or at least remain within touching distance with their rivals Jwaneng Galaxy and not let them run away with the league.
