The Botswana volleyball beach teams have served up a storm at the CAVB Zone VI Beach Volleyball Tour in Namibia, with the men’s and women’s teams clinching gold in impressive fashion this past weekend. In the first leg of the tour, hosted by Namibia, Botswana teams dominated the competition over the past three days in the beach town of Swakopmond. In the women’s final, the hardworking duo of Ngirl Wright and Cathy Boima left their Angolan opponents in the dust, winning 2-1 and claiming top honors. Meanwhile, in the men’s final, the usual suspects, Sekao Jack and George Chiswaniso, made quick work of their Angolan rivals, winning 2-0 and asserting their dominance. Tiroyaone Otimile and Tony Orapeleng secured a bronze medal, overpowering their Angolan counterparts in a thrilling match that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. In the overall women’s category, Botswana claimed first place, with Cathy and Ngirl leading the charge. Angola took second place, with Carla and Jeovania putting up a good fight. The Angolan team also claimed third place. Zimbabwe finished fourth, with Kim and Nyenge showing their skills. In the overall men’s category, Botswana took first place, with George and Jack proving to be an unstoppable duo.
