ORANGE BOTSWANA KICK-STARTS KRFA -Kweneng region and telecommunications giant in secret love
Following their strong interest and commitment to the development of local football, mobile telecommunications giants, Orange Botswana are reportedly on the verge of joining the Kweneng Regional Football Association (KRFA) as partners to grow football in the region.
Sources close to the deal have told Sun Sports that, negotiations are at an advanced stage but an announcement of the developments is not expected as the two organisations are likely to also sign a ‘non-disclosure agreement’. The role of Orange Botswana in this exercise, according to reliable informants, will see the mobile company offer their services, particularly, the Orange Money service to the region for any transactions made by the KRFA accounts office. Upon assuming his position as the chairman of the region last year, Vincent Mafuta highlighted that, maintaining high standards of corporate governance will be key to the development of football in the region, with compliance, transparency and capacitating administrators listed as some of his key areas of priority.
