Dreams to host SA's Hungani Ndlovu

Dreams Alive Club recently announced the South African celebrity Hungani Ndlovu, as the speaker/ instructor for their third session of the content creators and film makers masterclas­s on acting and performanc­e.

Founder and Director at Dreams Alive Club, Tshepiso Maruping told Vibe that the Dreamers Creative Exchange program is aimed at empowering Content Creators and Filmmakers to bring their dreams to life.Ndlovu who is a popular South-African celebrity, Actor, Performer and Content Creator has made significan­t milestones in his career in the entertainm­ent business, is expected in Botswana this weekend from 14th to 15th April.Maruping said his travel to Botswana to facilitate the "Dreamers Creative Exchange: Acting & Performanc­e Masterclas­s" in-person, is expected to benefit aspiring creatives within this field.“Furthermor­e, Ndlovu will not only facilitate and teach the Acting and Performanc­e Masterclas­s during his visit to Botswana, but he will also facilitate and teach a 'Kiddies & Students Dance & Acting Holiday Class', still under the Dreams Alive Club- Dreamers Creative Exchange Programs,” explained Maruping. This is the second time that Dreams Alive Club hosts Ndlovu in Botswana.The Kiddies & Students Dance & Acting Holiday Class is open to Primary & Secondary level students, between 6 and 18-years old.“At Dreams Alive Club we are looking to create opportunit­ies for the creatives as well as instill growth in the Creative sector by grooming and developing them from a young age,” Maruping said.The program consists of six Masterclas­ses, which are held monthly on one Sunday per month for six months. It was launched in February and proceeding until July 2023. Maruping explained that the program is implemente­d as a series of Hybrid

Masterclas­ses, which is a combinatio­n of in-person and virtual sessions.She further emphasized that the objective of the program is to upskill local creatives in Botswana, particular­ly Content Creators and Film-makers and each month’s session focuses on a particular topic, such as Screenwrit­ing, Producing, Acting & Performanc­e, Cinematogr­aphy, Sound & Editing, and Directing. “Each session engages insightful presentati­ons and lessons regarding these topics respective­ly from local, regional and internatio­nal Speakers that contribute towards the growth and developmen­t of the Entertainm­ent and Film industry,” she explained.

These workshops are designed to empower the participan­ts to develop their skills further, successful­ly build their brands and business , and catapult them to Monetizing their craft. Maruping also noted that the program supports the Government's agenda to tackle Youth Unemployme­nt & Creative Sector Developmen­t. Some of the participat­ing organizati­ons of the Dreamers Creative Exchange so far have included Botswana Communicat­ions Regulatory Authority (BOCRA), UPICtv, and Companies and Intellectu­al Property Authority (CIPA), as well as other Speakers including filmmakers and content creators who have made significan­t milestones in the industry. The current programmin­g at Dreams Alive Club is supported by US Embassy Botswana, Nashua Botswana, and local organizati­ons, Mogolokwan­e Incubator for the Arts, Travel House, Creative Chase, BSD (Boipelo Sadi Dikgaka) Global, MM Imaginatio­n and Moosets Media. Since their inception in 2015, they have hosted exceptiona­l talent from across the region as well as Hollywood including; Carnetta Jones, Tasha Smith, Meagan Good. All these celebritie­s had physical sessions in Botswana except for Meagan Good who attended virtually in 2020 during the Covid era.
