Self care and beauty should not be viewed as a luxury but a need, as beauty spas can be used as a therapeutic place.

Owner of Beauty Hooked beauty spa, Naledi Figar Mogorosi is an exceptional beautician, with beauty therapy qualifications from Bloemfontein, South Africa. Her new beauty spa operating under the slogan,

‘Pampering Hands’ is a clear indicator that she is passionate about beauty.

The immaculate and well equipped spa offers a variety of beauty services including; manicure, pedicure, waxing, massages, and makeup. Mogorosi told Vibe that all she has always envisioned was operating a one stop beauty salon that gives quality relaxation and feel good moment to her clients. Her passion about beauty made her quit her job to ensure that she closes the gap and offer services of international standard.

“I was working for the government at Immigration department from 2010 to 2013 and resigned to join my husband, Joel Mogorosi who was contracted to Bloemfontein Celtic football club, and while I was there I was intrigued by how exquisite the beauty industry was. This prompted me to invest in studying and expanding my knowledge in beauty therapy courses in Bloemfontein SA,” she said.

She started doing nails in her lounge in 2017. “Beauty Hooked -Pamper Hands was birthed in a small corner in the lounge, and few years later I moved from Block 7 where it all started, to Block 10 where the beauty studio was now based in a bachelor pad then I introduced my little sister, Omphemetse Precious Pule to work with, as the work was now overwhelming as a result of positive feedback,” she explained.

Her main goal was to convey the message that beauty is a lifestyle and also a need. So she worked hard to be unique from other beauticians. Her beauty studio offers welcome beverages. Since it is winter, they provide creamy tasty coffee while one enjoys their services. They also have free Wi-Fi available for their clients to ensure that they are not inconvenienced in any way while in their beauty house.

Mogorosi is glad that over the years, the business has received fantastic feedback and attracted more clients, and therefore take pride in providing the best services to their clients. “People now appreciate and understand the beauty of taking care of themselves, and have come to agree that it is not luxury but a need,” she said.

Since they have recently introduced more services, they have also employed two more workers, who also ensure that clientele needs are fully met.

The Block 3 based beauty spa is grounded on patience, passion, consistency and dedication. Mogorosi reiterated that self belief pays off and she is grateful to be part of Botswana’s beauty industry.

“I’m living a dream, I believed in myself the minute I started to set up in a small corner in my lounge doing nails and I’m greatful how everything unfolds as it all started from our pocket and now confident to compete at a world class standard,” said Mogorosi. She further said that as much as she wants to see the beauty industry growing, she also wishes to create employment and expand by having more of Beauty Hooked branches across Botswana.

“Our local beauty industry is growing, something I’m glad about, most people now understand the importance of self care and fully utilize beauty spas as places of therapy,” she said, noting that it may be makeup for someone, for another it might be a massage, while others feel happy when they have their nails done.
