Music awards nominees unveiled

Gospel Music Awards 2023 will this year be held under the theme,’ Soul Soothing Song’ with 20 categories that artistes will compete for.

This marks the fourth edition after the first one was held at the Molapo Showcase last year. Gospel Music Awards were actually built on the then Annual Gospel Awards (AGA) and Botswana Gospel Music Awards (BOGMA) to form one unit and represent gospel music as one unit.

The first and second editions of the Gospel Awards in Botswana were held in 2018 and 2019 respectively, run and promoted by AGA and BOGMA. Nominees to these awards were officially unveiled yesterday (Tuesday) to update the fans with what to look out for on the grand night of the awards. The awards particularly celebrate gospel artistes, recognize and expose them to their fans.

PRO at Gospel Music Awards, Tshepo Ngakaagae told Vibe that they are set to deliver the exciting and diverse awards night featuring a wide spectrum of Botswana Gospel artistes and international artistes. She promised an elegant night filled with quality performances.

“Gospel Music Awards anticipates a glorious night with exclusive high quality performances by a group of artistes who are passionate about their music and having their voice heard and marked by the entire nation as well as the rest of world,” she said.

She emphasized that the theme of the event this year, deliberately carries value in the celebration of the Gospel Music Awards. “It explains the impact that the gospel music has on the lives of many,” she said. The awards are billed for October 21st 2023 at Molapo Showcase.
