- BY SUN REPORTER

Financial services firm, Firstcred has announced intention to firmly support women’s economic empowerment. Firstcred Chief Operations Officer, Ambrose

Batsalelwang said assisting women’s financial needs has both economic and social impact.

“Recognizing that women often encounter unique obstacles as single parents and also in business and finance, the institution tailors its services to provide a supportive environment.

“By encouraging female entrepreneurs and offering them avenues to secure loans, Firstcred Limited is instrumental in diminishing gender disparities and bolstering overall economic growth,” said Batsalelwang.

He said entrepreneurs equipped with the financial means to actualize their ideas, create small businesses that serve local needs.

“In doing so, they not only generate personal income but also catalyze job creation, thus addressing a significant social concern – unemployment.”

With a substantial portion of the country’s population excluded from mainstream banking, often due to insufficient collateral or documentation and poor credit ratings, Batsalelwang said Firstcred has stepped into the void by extending loans tailored to the unique circumstances of government employees, small-scale entrepreneurs, farmers, and artisans who would otherwise be denied access to credit.

“The consequences of this approach are farreaching. By enabling the financially underserved to access capital, micro-financing ignites a sequence of events that ripple through the societal fabric.”

Meanwhile, the company has financial literacy programs to impart essential skills in budgeting, saving, and managing credit.
