Little Mr & Miss Botswana primary schools launches
Little Mister and Miss Botswana Primary Schools pageant will this weekend on Saturday launch their first annual event and finalists, at Gabane Family Fun Villa in Gabane.
The finalists launch event would unveil all those that made towards the grand finale. This exceptional pageant is aimed at grooming talent in the creatives industry, and has attracted 38 contestants from both rural and urban areas of Botswana. National Director of this pageant, Botlhale Menyatso told Vibe that this pageant is founded with the idea of popularization of children’s talents and presentation of national cultures. He is glad that for their first call they have already attracted many young people for the competition.
“The contestants of this pageant come from urban and rural areas and we have 38 participants, boys and girls to compete from different categories being Toto, Mini and Little categories,” said Menyatso. Different places of schools represented for this pageant include Tutume, Metsimotlhabe, Mahalapye, Orapa, Sojwe, Gaborone, Malotwana, Mochudi, Ramotswa, Kanye, Molepolole, Serowe, Letlhakane, Taupye, Francistown, Khwee, Mmopane, Lobatse and Goodhope.
Menyatso is convinced that the industry has always yearned for such an activity. “Through this pageant, I am aiming at raising upcoming models with a very sense of uniqueness in their style of modeling, as well as confident and competent young models that have passion for academics,” he said. He further clarified that Little Mister and Miss Botswana Primary Schools is a platform that will unleash talent from pre and primary school boys and girls aged from three and a half years, and to develop their skills in terms of pageantry.
“This is meant to inspire other young boys and girls to realize their dreams and potential of going to represent the country internationally after this national pageant,” he added.
The contestants would be treated to a professional photo shoot, which will witness finalists being posted for official voting across different media platforms. These finalists would also present their community outreach projects and also submit Christmas boxes that will be donated to Mochudi Resource Centre for the Blind (Stimulation Centre), that serves as a unique learning foundation for children two and half to five years with visual impairment.
Special guests to the event include appearances by kids who have been to international pageants and bought home crowns. They include; Lihle Khutshwe, a first runner up for Morning STAR international World 2023 Group A
first Runner Up, Morning STAR International World 2023 Group and Katlego Emmanuel Phuthulogang who is Mister Nature Conservancy Botswana first Runner up also Mr Little Tourism Ambassador Botswana Group B.
Katlego has been crowned second Runner Up at the just ended Little Tourism Ambassador World Competitions.

Miss Botswana Primary Schools are Baby Pinkie Brooks, a Fashion Model upcoming Queen and Atira Rapula who is Miss Pre and Primary Schools and TOTO Miss Green Growing Academy. She has also been crowned Miss Little Junior Serowe 2022/2023 and Raising a Star queen.
The grand finale for this pageantry will take place on December 16th. It would be accessorized with different parades including introduction parade with school uniforms, themed career displaying where they would present on what they want to be when they grow up, as well as talent show. The national outfit parade will allow the contestants to display Botswana cultures and the last parade would be evening wear.
