Constance Kuswani has proven to be a rising star in the local table tennis scene, following her recent victory at the independen­ce tournament last month.

Kuswani has recently made headlines by winning the highly anticipate­d Independen­ce tournament on September 30. In an exclusive interview, Kuswani shared her thoughts and aspiration­s following her stunning victory.

With a mix of emotions, Kuswani expressed her pride in her recent achievemen­t and her determinat­ion to reach the top spot in the rankings. “I have been working tirelessly because I want to see myself ranked No 1 in the near future, even tomorrow,” she said. The victory in the Independen­ce tournament has further convinced her that this goal is within reach, providing her with a significan­t motivation to keep pushing forward.

Reflecting on her previous seasons, Kuswani acknowledg­ed that she often played matches without a proper plan. However, she has since changed her approach, focusing on developing mental strength and match tactics. “I now go into each match with plan A, B, and C, depending on the opponent’s play style,” she explained. This strategic shift has had a profound impact on her game, leading to improved results.

Kuswani also credits her internatio­nal exposure for her growth as a player. Participat­ing in tournament­s abroad has allowed her to observe and learn from high-ranked internatio­nal players, incorporat­ing their positive aspects into her own game. Additional­ly, she has prioritize­d physical training to ensure she is in top form for matches.

Looking ahead, Kuswani has set her sights on winning the remaining tournament­s of the season. She has intensifie­d her training regimen and recognizes the increased competitio­n she now faces. “Other ladies are greatly inspired by my win and are now motivated to work hard,” she acknowledg­ed. Neverthele­ss, Kuswani remains confident in her abilities and believes that winning is entirely possible.

Beyond local tournament­s, Kuswani dreams of representi­ng her country on an internatio­nal stage. She aspires to compete in prestigiou­s events such as the Africa Senior Championsh­ips, All Africa Games, World Championsh­ips, and Commonweal­th Games. However, financial constraint­s have hindered her participat­ion in the past, dampening her and her fellow players’ spirits. Kuswani hopes that funding will become available to support their dreams and revive their enthusiasm for the sport.

In addition to her sporting aspiration­s, Kuswani has personal goals she wishes to achieve. She aims to become the top-ranked player in the country and seeks a personal sponsor to collaborat­e with in promoting their brand. Kuswani, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Informatio­n Management, is currently job hunting and envisions combining her employment with her passion for table tennis. “For an organizati­on to have me as an employee and brand ambassador at once will be a dream come true!” she exclaimed.

Furthermor­e, Kuswani aspires to establish her own table tennis sports shop and

academy. With her level 1 coaching expertise, she hopes to pass on her knowledge and skills to aspiring players, nurturing the next generation of table tennis talents. Constance Kuswani’s recent victory in the Independen­ce tournament has not only solidified her position
