Coach Daniel ‘Chico’ Nare also promotes a free playing style to identify and correct errors. Nato acknowledged the need for improvement in terms of fitness and announced that their next game is against UB Hawks at the Old Lobatse stadium.

In addressing the fans, Nato emphasized the importance of their continuous support. He said, “we need them; they’ve been cheering us from the first minute to the last. We expect this level of support at every game, including our training sessions. This marks the rebirth of Gunners.” Regarding his personal achievements with Gunners, Nato expressed his desire to leave the team at the top tier of the Botswana Football League, stating that achieving this would make him the happiest man in local football.

On the team’s behalf, Gunners’ spokesperson, Ofentse Mmualefe responded to the fans’ desire for relegation, finding it odd. However, he clarified that Gunners’ supporters are not bitter about the relegation, as evident from the remarkable attendance at their recent game. He also mentioned the committee’s perspective, stating: “We wanted to come and assess the situation. The first game was challenging to plan due to our coach Nare attending a CAF A license course.” Mmualefe acknowledged the difficulty of playing in the first division but emphasized their commitment to rekindling fans’ enthusiasm for attending games. He pointed out the unique opportunity for fans to interact with players during First Division matches, making the experience more enjoyable.

When asked about the potential for increased revenue from gate takings, Mmualefe explained: “Our focus isn’t solely on the games themselves. Instead, we aim to leave everyone, including hawkers, happy and smiling. Gunners have no ‘away’ games; everywhere we go is like a home game. We have branches across the country, and they wanted to witness the team’s progress, not just watch the match.” He concluded by mentioning the team’s efforts to generate their own revenue and build a strong brand while reducing debt, stating, “being known for debts doesn’t reflect well on football brands.”
