VIDEO FOR MAMA AFRICA COMING UP

- BY IRENE SHONE Flexybouy Hardgee

Flexybouy Hardgee recently dropped a Hip-Hop song dubbed, ‘Mama Africa’, aimed at celebrating marriage.

In this era, where a lot believe that the marriage institution has lost its value, Flexybouy Hardgee through his song, says marriage remains a beautiful union.

“This song talks about marriage, how important marriage is and just the beauty of seeing a couple tying a knot,” he said. The first verse of the song says, “A re thabeng tshweu wee nna ke bone lerato ngwana wa mmala wa sebilo, Nyalo ya go tshwanela” loosely translated to, “I am finally in a happy place as I have found the one I now can spend my life with.”

In the second verse of the song, the artiste continues to impress upon men and remind them about the importance of marriage and how special it is to marry someone you love. The well put lyrics combined with the perfect beats of Afro Pop, says “No Noo Majita wee kare yona ke mosadi wame”, meaning that his wife is a no-go area for other men because she is now married.

He told Vibe that this line simply implies that men should love their women wholeheartedly and be proud enough to show them off to the world. “This AFRO POP song was inspired by high divorce rates in Botswana and how people perceive marriage these days. I chose to be on the positive side of marriage because I value family and marriage and equally inspired to get married,” he said, emphasizing that the song was meant to inspire people to be reminded that marriage is beautiful and important, hence it is a blessing from God.

He is already happy about the feedback he receives regarding the song. “I already have bookings to perform at some weddings this season because of the song,” he shared. The song is also playing at radio stations and it was produced by Tinerman Kwaito of Home Vibes Records in Kanye, who Flexybouy Hardgee highly recommends for his exceptional work.

He further said that they are currently working on the script of the video of the song and hope to have released it by end of the year. He added that the song also features in his upcoming album called ‘Mmutlane to the world’ which is scheduled to be released in November, 2023.
