As efforts to propel the local economy into a digital economy continue, government has welcomed Tano Digital Solutions’ decision to move headquarters from Harare to Gaborone.

The Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Communications, Knowledge and Technology, Cecil Masiga said the company is expected to significantly contribute to the country’s ever growing industry of tech and innovation.

“As we navigate the complexities of the 21st century, technology has become the driving force behind progress and development across all sectors. It has the power to transform economies, empower individuals, and bridge the gap between nations,” said Masiga at the company’s official launch.

Masiga said the government is optimistic that Tano Digital Solution’s expertise will bring solutions to address challenges and opportunities in the local economy.

“Their expertise in systems of integration will enable businesses to thrive in an increasingly interconnected and data-driven world,” said Masiga.

Tano Digital Solutions has also vowed not to be a fly by night investor but promising to prop up the local economy.

“We are here to become a trusted partner, a driving force behind Botswana’s economic growth, and a catalyst for technological advancement,” said Tano Digital Solutions’ Chief Executive Officer, Wallen Mangere.

He further said his company has been attracted to Botswana by the country’s political stability and promising economic trajectory.
