For the world competition
Miss Teen Universe Botswana off to Columbia
Miss Teen Universe Botswana, Palesa Motsewetsho has left to Barranquilla, Columbia for the Miss Teen Universe competition.
This is one of the exciting moments the queen has been waiting for. “I am very ready to represent my country. Since gaining my title, I have been intensely preparing to step on the international stage,” said the beautiful queen. She told this publication that during the past months she has been doing all she could to perfect herself for the international stage. “I did walking classes, gym sessions, etiquette training among other activities and so I am more than prepared to raise our flag,” said Motsewetsho, confidently highlighting that Botswana should expect the Miss Teen Universe crown to come home.
The grand finale is actually this coming weekend on November 25th, where she would be battling against other 25 queens from different countries of the world. Palesa admitted that this
Miss Teen Universe Botswana, title comes with a lot of responsibility. She told Vibe that she only managed to keep the balance because of the support she received from her pageantry directors, teachers and family.
“Sometimes juggling the * title with being an active member of the student body and an athlete can be challenging. I have only managed to overcome this through good time management. My directors and teachers have forever been understanding and supportive together with my family and this has made my life aspirations more easier,” she said. Like it is a norm for a reigning queen, she also has a project called ‘Palesa’s Caring Sisterhood’. This is a Non-profit charity organisation and an initiative meant to aid the underprivileged and increase the welfare of communities. It mainly focuses on the provision of sanitary pads distribution and sanitary pad machine installation in the surrounding schools and communities, while also tackles the issues of childhood poverty through the use of food drives, toy drives and clothing donations. “Through my project as a queen, I have also managed to deliver some relief assistance to other groups in Botswana,” the queen said.
