Miss Teen Universe Botswana off to Columbia

Miss Teen Universe Botswana, Palesa Motsewetsh­o has left to Barranquil­la, Columbia for the Miss Teen Universe competitio­n.

This is one of the exciting moments the queen has been waiting for. “I am very ready to represent my country. Since gaining my title, I have been intensely preparing to step on the internatio­nal stage,” said the beautiful queen. She told this publicatio­n that during the past months she has been doing all she could to perfect herself for the internatio­nal stage. “I did walking classes, gym sessions, etiquette training among other activities and so I am more than prepared to raise our flag,” said Motsewetsh­o, confidentl­y highlighti­ng that Botswana should expect the Miss Teen Universe crown to come home.

The grand finale is actually this coming weekend on November 25th, where she would be battling against other 25 queens from different countries of the world. Palesa admitted that this

Miss Teen Universe Botswana, title comes with a lot of responsibi­lity. She told Vibe that she only managed to keep the balance because of the support she received from her pageantry directors, teachers and family.

“Sometimes juggling the * title with being an active member of the student body and an athlete can be challengin­g. I have only managed to overcome this through good time management. My directors and teachers have forever been understand­ing and supportive together with my family and this has made my life aspiration­s more easier,” she said. Like it is a norm for a reigning queen, she also has a project called ‘Palesa’s Caring Sisterhood’. This is a Non-profit charity organisati­on and an initiative meant to aid the underprivi­leged and increase the welfare of communitie­s. It mainly focuses on the provision of sanitary pads distributi­on and sanitary pad machine installati­on in the surroundin­g schools and communitie­s, while also tackles the issues of childhood poverty through the use of food drives, toy drives and clothing donations. “Through my project as a queen, I have also managed to deliver some relief assistance to other groups in Botswana,” the queen said.
