Mascom Live Sessions back!

- BY IRENE SHONE

The return of Mascom Live Sessions impressed many this past weekend, with their amazing lineup of renowned artistes.

Man of the moment, Han C, made sure to live the mark once again as he captivated the audience with his electrifying entrance performance. Everyone could tell that the event was going to be nothing short of fun and indeed the night turned into one of the unforgettable moments.

Head of Communications and PR at Mascom, Barbara Gotlop also agreed that the success of Mascom Live Sessions, after the last one in 2019, before Covid proved that fans have been waiting. The performers vibed beautifully with their audience. The lineup featured outstanding performances by local artists HanC and Khoisan alongside the South African Mafikizolo group. This perfect toy underscored the immense cultural impact of the arts.

One of the attendants at the event, Unoh Mathuka Maphane dubbed it a jam-packed event. She attended with her friends and told Vibe that this was just their excellent start to celebrate this year’s festive season. The seemingly satisfied Maphane confidently applauded all the artistes and said Han C was however his favorite.

“Both artistes are my favourites, that’s why I could not miss the event. Hanc’s introductory perfomances was fire. I loved it more,” she said. To her, an event is rated excellent only if the sound is perfect, and so she told Vibe that she was also impressed with the sound and security. She however, bemoaned the limited space offered by the venue, Botswana Craft.

Gotlop on the other hand, said that this sold-out event did not only showcase the incredible talent within the artistic community but also highlighted the profound influence of music and performance in shaping the cultural landscape. “Supporting events like this is vital, as they do not only provide a platform for artists to share their creativity but also contribute to the cultural enrichment of our society. The arts play a pivotal role in fostering unity, expression, and understanding,” she said, emphasizing that it is through events such as Mascom Live Sessions where they could continue to celebrate and support the arts as a driving force in shaping a collective identity.
