The Midweek Sun

Caught redhanded, left MOMENT red-faced

-

My wife Agnes, took my phone and deleted my girlfriend, Malebogo’s number and saved her new number that I did not know of, as Malebogo. All the time I was not aware Agnes knew anything about my sidechick. My wife and I were all too happy and even laughing together in the sitting room of our house in Mogoditshane. While there chatting with my wife, I received an SMS from Malebogo asking for money, P500 to be specific. I was used to giving her money because she was way too good for me. My wife and I are good but Malebogo gave me everything a man could ask for from a woman, more than my wife did. I could not let her down but I did not have P500 at that moment. Malebogo said she was in Francistown when she sent the message asking for P500. I then looked at my wife and lied to her that I urgently needed P500 for an emergency. I told her that my brother was sick and that he needed the money urgently. My wife gave me the money in hard cash and I was forced to rush out to go deposit it into Lebo’s account at the bank. I returned home and waited as I kept calling Lebo and she was not picking up her phone. I was surprised that after some time, Lebo had not sent any message to say she got the money. I sent her an SMS to find out if she had received the money. Her response was: “Call me now.” I went outside behind the house to make a call. Eish…you can imagine my horror face when I heard my wife’s voice instead of Malebogo’s. I quickly hung up, not knowing what happened. I went back to Lebo’s name on the phone, verified her number only to find my wife’s number. I then picked a hosepipe to keep myself busy by watering plants. It’s been three days I am still watering the plants. What do I do? What do I say?
