AVANI RESORT donates school shoes

-

Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino is embarking on a campaign coined, ‘Walk a child to school’ aimed at supporting local education.

They are doing this in collaboration with Kiwi, BIC and GABZFM. PR and Marketing Executive for Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino, Samantha Bogopa said that in their quest to give back to the community, they have this time around chosen to donate school shoes to the less privileged.

“We have embarked on a heartwarming project to donate school shoes to disadvantaged students in our community,” she said.

Further, “Recognizing the importance of education and understanding that many families face financial challenges, we have undertaken this effort to ensure that every child in our community starts the school year on equal footing,” she stated. She emphasized that proper footwear is not only a practical necessity but also a crucial factor in a child’s confidence and sense of belonging. The donation drive, which began on January 11 depends on the support and generosity of their customers, and community members at large. Bogopa reiterated that this is part of their commitment to corporate social responsibility. She added that Avani Gaborone Hotel believes in giving back to the community that has supported them over the years and this initiative aligns with their core values of inclusivity and education, aiming at creating a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most.

“In collaboration with Kiwi, BIC & GABZ FM, we will be distributing the donated school shoes at a school chosen by the radio listeners in through Gabz FM on the 23rd of February 2024,” she explained. Representatives from Avani Gaborone and partners will be present to share the joy of giving and witness the positive impact of their collective efforts.

“We invite members of the media, community leaders, and our valued customers to join us at the distribution event. Together, let us celebrate the spirit of community and the power of collective goodwill,” said Bogopa.
