Intensive preparatio­ns for the Mares

Botswana’s first match in the Antalya Cup will be against Thailand on February 22nd, and additional matches will follow. This will be the Mares’ first internatio­nal training camp, and the Botswana Football Associatio­n is optimistic that it will be a valuable opportunit­y to prepare for the WAFCON tournament. They hope that this intensive training will give the team a competitiv­e edge.

The Botswana Football Associatio­n is taking the Mares’ preparatio­ns for the WAFCON very seriously.

They are targeting a better result than last time, when the team reached the quarter finals. The BFA believes that the team did not prepare well enough for the previous tournament, and this time they are committed to giving the team everything they need to be successful. The Mares are ready to work hard and give it their all and already in camp for turkey training camp.

Masego Busumane, Head of Marketing at the BFA, said that while the exact amount raised by the 2.0 campaign could not be disclosed at this time, they were confident that they would reach their goal with hard work and determinat­ion. He emphasized that the campaign was ongoing and that the organizati­on was committed to supporting the Mares.

“Aside from cash donations, our major initiative­s include a gala dinner on March 1st, 2024, with table prices ranging from P100K to P50K. We are also planning a golf day at the Stanbic Gaborone Golf Club on April 19th, 2024, with a standard hole going for P15K and a premium hole for P20K. Finally, we are planning a football festival on March 31st at the National Stadium,” she said.
