BATSWANA RANKED MOST SPOILED IN AFRICA

-

A social media post from one of the several facebook pages on African facts was trending recently for ranking Botswana Number 1 under the spoiled nations index! Under the title “African Citizens Most Spoiled By Their Governments,” the post puts Botswana as Number 1, followed by Mauritius, then Seychelles, South Africa and Libya. It is not clear how authentic the post is nor is there any accompanying explanation of how this conclusion was reached, but it has been the reactions to the post that caught the eye. Many who responded and commented on the different platforms where the post appears agree that Batswana are a spoiled lot. Although some blame the government for laying the foundation of dependency from as way back as 1966, they still agree Batswana feel too entitled and are lazy to even think for themselves when times are hard. One comment actually talked to the fact that looking up to government to provide livelihoods has left many Batswana unnecessarily poor. The man says 13 years after waiting with his degree and hoping that government would give him a job, he was forced into piece jobs he once shunned following the pregnancy of his girlfriend. The little he made from there was invested in buying and selling Cool Time and eventually other in-demand stuff like scones and fatcakes in the morning; sex enhancement herbs among others. The man says to cut his long story short, he is now a successful businessman who makes even more money in a month than he would be earning had he waited like his peers for jobs. His message was that Batswana who are waiting to be spoiled have not really experienced any crisis in their lives, otherwise they would open their eyes to the many opportunities that they simply ignore out there, taken instead by foreigners who come with nothing from the likes of Zimbabwe, India and Nigeria, but leave with loads of money back to their countries. Gatwe re itsose bagaetsho, and stop blocking our sights from minefields before us.
