Football Summit eases access
The Botswana Football Summit has made accessibility a top priority, with affordable tickets and free admission for many football administrators. The event aims to provide a platform for learning and growth, and the organizers believe that access to the summit should not be limited by cost. The summit is scheduled to be held from the 22-24 March 2024 at the University of Botswana Indoor facility.
One of the organizers, Owe Mmolawa, said that the ticket prices are affordable for a reason, and that many football administrators will be able to attend as delegates for free. They hope that the summit will provide a valuable opportunity for those involved in the sport to learn and grow and accessibility is a key part of that mission.
“Local football administrators are the backbone of Botswana football. They are the ones who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the sport, so we wanted to make sure that they had access to this event. We want to give them the opportunity to gain knowledge that can help improve the state of football in Botswana. That’s why we decided to invite them to attend for free,” he said.
Mmolawa highlighted that all the 16 Botswana Premier League and 24 First Division North & South member clubs to register a maximum of two administrators/ representatives each, through the Botswana Football League for FREE as delegates.
He emphasised that all the 17 Regional Associations of Botswana Football Association will register a
maximum of two representatives each for free through Botswana Football Association. Additionally, four representatives from the National Women Football Committee and selected representatives from women’s football member clubs of the BFA are also to register for free.
This summit is for local administrators to gain valuable insights from experts across various dimensions of football. They will also stand the opportunity to stay wellinformed of the latest trends and strategies in sports management and development,” Mmolawa said.
“Networking with professionals and enthusiasts within the football community is also another opportunity. They will also stand an opportunity to access diverse perspectives, fostering a deeper understanding of the global football landscape,” he added.
He emphasized that there are no restrictions
on who can attend the summit, and that tickets for the two-day event are available at a cost of P150 per person. They also announced that registration and ticketing details will be shared in the near future.
“The main aim is to make the tickets affordable as much as we can, so that we enable many people to come and gain knowledge from the reputable speakers that will be speaking at the event,” he mentioned.
