StanChart donates to schools

Standard Chartered Bank donated computers and pairs of shoes to three primary schools in Kgalagadi district as part of its community developmen­t and broadening its business practices. Through its Employee Volunteer (EV) programme, the bank donated a total of 325 pairs of shoes, 30 computers, and 30 indigenous trees to three primary schools, Ncaang Primary School, Monong Primary School and Ukhwi Primary School.

Standard Chartered Bank Chief Executive Officer, Mpho Masupe said the bank remains steadfast in its mission to uplift communitie­s and expand access to banking services. “This initiative exemplifie­s our dedication to lifting participat­ion and connecting opportunit­ies to the communitie­s we serve.” He pointed out that the engagement­s underscore­s StanChart’s unwavering dedication to fostering excellence in education and advancing its sustainabi­lity agenda. He said by leveraging the expertise and goodwill of its staff through the EV programme, the bank aims to make a meaningful difference in the lives of community members while furthering its broader business objectives. “We are thrilled to extend a hand in Kgalagadi North, furthering our commitment to making a positive impact in the communitie­s we serve. Through mentorship, donations, and volunteeri­sm, we hope to empower individual­s, promote sustainabl­e practices, and drive lasting change.” Speaking during the handover ceremony, Assistant Minister of Local Government, Talita Monnakgotl­a highlighte­d the importance in empowering communitie­s that are under-resourced and invited the Bank to continue their efforts towards community upliftment.
