Hilton sponsors school with a garden

Hilton Garden Inn Gaborone has cemented collaborat­ion with Galaletsan­g Primary School through establishm­ent of a herb garden, as the company promotes responsibl­e tourism

The initiative making the fifth-year anniversar­y of Hilton Garden Inn Gaborone has been crafted under the company’s travel with purpose commitment focused on driving responsibl­e tourism globally.

In addition, the herb garden is to support the school’s learning and catering efforts for students and staff.

According to the company, through the initiative, the hotel aims to champion education, destinatio­n stewardshi­p, local farming, and planet protection.

Hilton’s mutually benefittin­g partnershi­p with Galaletsan­g Primary School began in 2023, when the hotel supported the school with community projects including the repair and replacemen­t of doors, windows, toilets and the donation of stationery and garden tools.

“We host regular career fairs to create opportunit­ies for the youth, and our collaborat­ion with Galaletsan­g Primary School is a testament of our commitment to Botswana. We look forward to continuing the amazing work we have already started and providing the best stay experience for travelers,” said General Manager at Hilton Garden Inn Gaborone, Thabani Ndlovu.

Meanwhile, the hotel has also launched a football team.

“We are excited to celebrate five years of operations in Botswana and are proud of our impact to our customers, Team Members, local community, and owners,” said Ndlovu.

He explained that customer touchpoint­s in banking have changed, but the bank is still working with people hence it must adapt to the changing needs and preference­s of customers so that it can provide personalis­ed and relevant banking experience­s. “We understand that the value of our customers far exceeds their bank balance. As a bank and a brand, we want to acknowledg­e the stories that shape the lives behind every single bank account number. We want to put a face to a number in an effort to be more human-centred and empathetic.”
