WHAT’S NEXT FOR YANDANI BOKO NOW THAT HE IS OUT

-

Boko’s constituency as we speak has no Member of Parliament – ke masiela. It turns out that he did not even bother go ya go laela except to talk to a few elders in the constituency. In fact, the BNF and the UDC complain that he took them by surprise too, as he did not inform them of his decision – that they learnt about in when he spoke in Parliament. Gatwe le ene Duma Boko tota he did not bother go mo laela – the gentleman just bolted and ran. From an earlier interview with Thato Scar Matlhabaphiri on Podicast, one could already tell he was not a happy man within his party. The signs were there he was on his way out, even though he assured all that he would be representing the party at the next general elections. As we all know now, he is gone – but where to? Magatwe a re he has already been promised a lucrative post at an African regional organisation and he felt he could not let it pass when his party was already showing signs that they don’t want him. If he were to lose elections, he would be out of employment, and because he wasn’t sure, he chose to quit so that he takes the offer. Of course there has been the usual UDC talk of him being bought by the ruling party. Yes, at UDC when you resign o ja le Domkrag and you have been promised tenders. The UDC activists on social media have asked everybody to watch the space – that Boko will soon be red! Of course Boko denies the BDP links, but on Podicast, he hinted at the possibility, using the words, “in politics there are no permanent enemies.” He said ene he loves his country and if given a chance to come and serve it, he will do so. But it is the continent’s regional organization we hear he could be headed for.
