Let us dwell a little more on last week’s topic. It is almost like our bread and butter subject, very basic yet so important. Our daily well being… be it headache, tummy ache, emotional ache, mental ache, physical ache or spiritual ache for that matter, need to be addressed from an all rounded approach.

Last week I said “one way or another we continue to be touched by the reality of loss of life due to various causes.” This statement remains, and will always remain relevant.

The breathing exercises, meditation and yoga stretches have been relevant from the time we were born, and have remained relevant to-date. Our life continues, and we continue to face and deal with the issues that may have been in our life and continue to be. These are issues of health or fatigue – physical, mental, emotional or spiritual; some are issues of fear, anxiety, anger – how to deal with it; some are relationsh­ip issues – whether divorce, sibling relationsh­ips, parents or children relationsh­ips, or any other societal relationsh­ips; some are career related issues; you can add many more to this list.

On Sunday I watched an interestin­g knowledge packed video that linked the breath work to the knowledge from the Bible. Breath is real, not just to keep you alive as you breath in and out, but it is the one natural gift that is meant to bring you closer to YOU. YOU being the healthy, happy, loving, patient, tolerant, generous, forgiving, prosperous, and peaceful being. The more you learn to work with breath, the better you are able to connect to YOU. Breath empowers you to deal with all issues without having to point a finger to someone being the cause of your life situation. Breath empowers you with the “victor” mindset as opposed to the “victim” mindset. All you need to do is learn to work with the breath.

Taking purposeful small steps, eating right, embracing holistic Yoga will go a long way towards our quality of life. Mindset change remains a concept until we fold our sleeves and do the spade work. All this is necessary to improve the quality of our life, all round.
