Ready to serve Botswana and Africa

- BY IRENE SHONE

Miss Philanthrophy África, Antonniette Letsholo hosted an Appreciation Day event in Oodi recently where she recognised everyone who made her

journey a smooth ride to win the international title.

The newly crowned queen emphasised that pageantries are a hard work, and one can only manage if they have the right support alongside their efforts. When she left for the international competition in Nigeria, she was not sure if she would emerge the queen as she was competing against other queens from different countries.

She could not be more happier to be crowned the African queen of Miss Philanthrophy. To her, this is a blessing to Botswana and she is ready to place Botswana on the map while serving her term as the African queen. She specifically thanked the Oodi community for the support that they rendered to her throughout the competition, saying that the love has sustained her and motivated her to do even better throughout the competition.

The team behind her success include; The Crown Fixer, Beauty Mart, Wins Design Katie Arts, Caserio and Explicit Photos, as well as Blessing Medicak Center. She also applauded Word of God Living Church and Assemblies of God Mochudi for the spritual support and everyone who made sure that they had an input in her journey.

President of Miss Philanthrophy Africa, Barriester Honour Abdullahi-Umar described Queen Letsholo as a versatile, humble and hardworking woman and underscored that her qualities would never have been recognised internationally without her support from the Miss Philanthrophy Botswana team. She urged Botswana to continue supporting her during her reign to serve the continent accordingly.

“Queen Antoinette has made me love Botswana so much that I look forward to visiting a country filled with a people that fear and serve the living God. A land of raw talents, and the land of diamonds,” he said. Letsholo said that during her reign, she will continue to touch people’s lives in Botswana and other African countries in different ways.

A representative from Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture (MYSC) Phio Pule wished the queen a successful reign and encouraged other youth to participate in the upcoming MYSC competitions. Abdullahi-Umar emphasised that this platform does not focus on the outward beauty nor eloquent speeches only but rather on humanity and making a difference in the world. He added that their vision is to eradicate poverty in Africa by raising women to take up space, to be that bridge between the rich and the poor and he is confident that the new queen will serve her purpose in that regard during her reign season.
