STANBIC, BONU FOSTER NURSES’ FINANCIAL STABILITY

- Pauline Dikuelo Staff Writer

Stanbic Bank Botswana has partnered with Botswana Nurses Union (BONU), a move aimed at fostering longterm financial stability and empowerment of nurses in the country.

Some of the benefits of the partnership include joint financial literacy workshops, home loans services through Ikagele Scheme, vehicle and asset financing, unsecured personal loans, embedded savings schemes, executive banking services, unique and personalised solutions, employer value banking consultations, financial fitness programmes as well as a wide range of solutions that are cost-effective and convenient.

Commenting on the issue, Stanbic’s chief executive officer (CEO), Samuel Minta said through the partnership they seek to empower all members of BONU with financial services that they can use to build their own legacies and improve their lives, thus, better enabling them to leverage capabilities to make their dreams come true. “It is our goal to champion an effective and sustainable financial services support environment in the country through partnerships such as this. Through this engagement with BONU, the bank takes yet another great step in its journey to build longlasting relationships that help co-create a brighter future for Batswana,” he said.

The announcement comes after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which looks to place the financial welfare of BONU members at the centre of an array of banking services support. For his part, BONU president, Obonolo Rahube said the partnership formalises the mutual interaction and strengthens the existing relationship between the bank and BONU at a strategic and working level, based on the needs of the nurses. “This is an exciting moment for us as the union. This partnership brings greater comfort and peace of mind in financial well-being and empowerment, and we thank Stanbic Bank Botswana for this mutually beneficial partnership.

It does not only mean impact for the nurses themselves but also for their families and those in their zones of influence, albeit indirectly.

This is progress and this is what we are working to passionately drive further,” added Rahube.
