Mothers Day Brunch with a twist
Founder and director of Exquisitely Boity Events, Boitumelo Keoagile will host an extravagant Mother’s Day Brunch at Wagga Gardens in Gaborone on May 7.
The event will bring together both mothers and aspiring mothers from all walks of life to network and share their motherhood experiences.
To be held under the theme “Motherhood With A Twist”, multiple influential and inspirational mothers such as Matlhogonolo Mponang, Marang Selolwane, Dr Tuelo Modongo, Theo Olopeng, Marina Ngwako and Cheshe Dow will be main speakers.
Each speaker will express their varying experiences into the intricacies of motherhood in the modern world from their own different worlds; including balancing children and business/entrepreneurship, single motherhood, motherhood in a multicultural family, motherhood with a disabled child and more. Speaking to the press on Friday, Keoagile explained that each mother that has been selected to speak will be doing so based on commonly identified challenges faced by mothers in Botswana, how they have been able to cope with these issues, and how any ordinary mother can overcome any struggles they are facing.
“As for Marang, for example, she’s an influencer and young mother, she loves her family and one of the reasons we selected her was because she videos and documents all the milestones and the progress of her children,” Keoagile said.
“We believe in engagement, presence and giving time to our children to offer them the support that we need. Most of the time when we’re not there we miss important things and as our children grow older, they start to lose balance,” she said.
Additionally on balance, Mponang and Olopeng will be speaking on how to balance work, children, marriage, greater family and friends for mothers that feel like they are balancing the world on their head.
“We’re trying to promote wellness, mindset change, adapting and the utilisation of your authentic self to promote your better self,” Keoagile stated.
In promoting wellness and good health, Dr Mudongo will share her experiences as a paediatrician that gave birth to premature twins and how to take care of your health as an expectant mother.
Ngwako and Dow will be detailing their experiences with leading families that are physically and culturally different to the norm, how that affects children and motherhood and how mothers can embrace and love the unique nature of their families. Beyond this, there is allegedly a prominent surprise guest set to appear at the brunch that will offer a remarkable perspective on motherhood.
Tickets for the event are currently on sale with Exquisitely Boity Events Management, starting from P650 including live performances, motivational speeches, networking opportunities, goodies bags, food and drinks.
