Premier League giants, Township Rollers have said they will abide by all the directions given by the Botswana Football Association (BFA) regarding the issue involving the improper registration of full back, Onkarabile Ratanang.

The BFA on Friday announced the suspension of two Rollers officials, Motshegetsi Mafa and Sidney Magagane from all football related activities pending investigations into the matter.

The association also announced the suspension of former regions and competitions manager, Setete Phuthego indefinitely for his involvement in the registration of the player.

Rollers chief executive officer (CEO), Bennett Mamelodi on Friday said the club will cooperate with all the relevant structures until the matter has been put to finality. “We call on supporters to remain calm and united in pursuit of rallying behind the club during these challenging times,” the club said through a media statement on Friday.

The issue is currently threatening to put the league end into chaos and gained momentum this past week when the association revealed that the player was registered outside the transfer window.

“The investigations have revealed that the player was registered outside the BFA registration period. The BFA registration period was from 13th July 2021 to the 30th September 2021 and the player was registered on the 28th October 2021,” the BFA press statement on Friday stated Both Mafa and Magagane are set to go through disciplinary proceedings before the BFA judicial structures. The matter of the player has since been referred to the Players’ Status Committee for final determination while Rollers has been referred to the Botswana Football League (BFL) DC for appropriate sanctioning. Rollers have since taken a decision not to use the player until the matter has been settled.

The BFA registration period was from 13th

July 2021 to the 30th September 2021 and the player was registered on the

28th October 2021,” the BFA press statement on Friday

stated.
