Peermont reawakens 70s, 80s Disco
Disco fans are expected to boogie the night away with grownups their own age to all their favourite 70s and 80s disco soul and feel good pop classics.
Peermont Botswana is celebrating the return of the annual 70s and 80s disco party at two of their properties. The popular music event returns to the GICC at The Grand Palm Resort on June 17 and then goes to Sedibeng Hotel & Casino in Francistown for the first time on June 25.
The Grand Palm event boasts a line-up consisting of Vinny Da Vinci, Dinno Bravo, Kuchi, Mr O, Choto, Lefatshe, Hai Chang and Chrispin The Drummer, while Sedibeng Hotel & Casino will welcome to the decks the talents of Jazzy Dee, Boogie Sid, Cheng, Mr 0, Cue, Hai Chang and Trax.
‘We are excited to welcome our annual 70’s and 80’s disco party. It’s always a firm favourite and guests love to dress up in the style and showcase their fashion sense from that era. This year’s line-up boosts of local DJs and Mzansi’s most loved oldies DJs.’ Peermont Botswana’s general manager, Keletso Bogatsu revealed.
After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the celebration of 70s and 80s culture will be even bigger according to the organisers. Just like it happened in 2019, attendees are anticipated to get into the swing of things by dressing for the era as they watch or be a part of the parade for best dressed.
Organisers also say the patrons will be given a setting where they could relive those times and dance as great as they did at that age if not better. In the last edition in 2019, Peermont Botswana went all out to make sure that their patrons have the best night ever. Everything about that evening was special, from the
GICC venue setup to the line-up of DJs who kept everyone happy and made the evening fly by. It was a dance hall full of happy smiling faces and some of the fans described it as “a night to remember!”
Now that the 70’s and 80’s disco party is back, the organisers have to live up to those expectations and bring back that magnificent evening of pure joy and escapism. Some of the new artists in this year’s line-up also have big shoes to fill and they only have one job, which is to bring back the funk and the disco.
The line-up of artistes in 2019 played the crowd perfectly and had them dancing until morning, so this time around during an era of the COVID-19 pandemic, people will expect more from the line-up of DJs.
Tickets for the Gaborone event start at P350 per person, and P250 per person for Francistown. Ticket includes welcome drink and a light snack.
