FRANCISTOWN: Security Systems assistant coach, John Molefinyana was full of compliments for the club’s 40-year-old forward, Kenanao ‘Floh’ Kgetholetsile, despite a 2-1 defeat to TAFIC, in a Botswana Premier League (BPL) encounter played at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium on Saturday. Kgetholetsile rolled back the years with a flawless performance against TAFIC. Despite his age, he gave TAFIC defenders a torrid time. He was probably among the best players on the pitch for Systems along with defender, Tshepo Kopelang.

‘Floh’ capped his impressive run with a well taken goal early in the first half after shrugging of pressure from two defenders before slotting the ball past an advancing TAFIC goalkeeper, Prince Mooketsi. In a media scrum, TAFIC coach Philemon Makwengwe was also amazed by the manner in which Kgetholetsile troubled and outpaced his young defenders. The veteran forward was unlucky not to score more than one goal in the match. The former Extension Gunners forward even earned cheers from the home crowd for his neat displays.

“He is our key player. The good thing is that this time around he fully participated in our pre-season. He is in a very good condition.

He will be key for us this season. He is very professional and leads a fairly healthy lifestyle,” said the assistant coach.

Added Molefinyana: “We are managing him very well. We exempt him from training sometimes, to allow him to fully recover for weekend games.”

Molefinyana was very unhappy with his side losing points. He bemoaned that his side continues to give away very silly goals. Systems have managed seven points in five league games.

Meanwhile TAFIC’s Makwengwe was not entirely pleased with his side’s overall display despite a hard fought win.

“I take the result but not the performance. I want enterprising football. I am a very demanding coach and my players know that,” he said. Makwengwe has been credited for transforming TAFIC into a formidable entity. The club currently occupies the seventh position after managing two wins, three draws and one loss.

Systems took the lead through Kgetholetsile in 20th minute. TAFIC would then find the equaliser through Montsi Dichaba on the 24th minute after he capitalised on a goal keeping blunder by Kabelo Kuti. The latter failed to clear what seemed like an innocent ball, eventually allowing Dichaba to easily tap the ball into an empty net. The match was seemingly even for the better part of the first half. TAFIC’s winner came from

Vincent Lekorwe’s penalty in the 73rd minute. That was after a Systems defender was adjudged to have fouled substitute Modise Modipe.
