“At the core of our success is the well-being of our people. Wellness is not just about the absence of illness; it is about flourishing in every aspect of life. It encompasses physical health, yes, but also mental and emotional well-being. It is about finding that delicate balance between personal and professional life, between ambition and contentment.”

The Naledi Mining MD observed that the wellness Day’s theme encapsulates the essence of what they strive for—a workplace where well-being is not just a corporate objective but a collective responsibility. Mr Thitoyamore also paid tribute to the mining company’s trade union saying the symbiotic relationship between Naledi Mining management and the union had been a sense of pride. He hailed the partnership as not just a formality but the bedrock on which the well-being and success of their collective workforce rests.

He further invited everyone at the stadium to engage in the various activities lined up for the day that cater to their holistic health needs. He added that engaging in physical activities, from yoga to fitness classes, is about fostering a healthy lifestyle. Mental health resources, stress-relief activities, and health screenings are investments in the overall well-being. “The importance of work-life balance, as you will hear from some of our partners gathered here cannot be overemphasized.”

He said it is also their intention to put in place eco-friendly and sustainable practices with a purpose to encourage members of the Naledi family to carry the lessons and practices from this day into their daily lives for a sustained positive impact.

“Today it’s an opportunity to make wellness fun, engaging, and, most importantly, rewarding. As we engage in the planned activities let us make a collective pledge. A pledge to prioritise our well-being, to foster a workplace culture where every individual feels supported, valued, and empowered. Let today be the starting point for a renewed focus on well-being— one that transcends this Wellness Day and becomes an integral part of our corporate DNA.”
