Botswana hailed as an ideal business destinatio­n

Atop executive at local insurance company, Alpha Direct, has hailed the government of Botswana for making the country one of the best destinatio­ns to do business.

Speaking at the MIT Legatum Foundry Fellows event launch on Friday, Alpha Direct CEO Arun Iyer lauded the government for its pivotal role in fostering an environmen­t conducive to business growth and success.

“The government has been a driving force behind the success of Alpha Direct. Their commitment to creating a business-friendly environmen­t has allowed us to thrive and expand our operations,” Iyer said.

He said the country is an ideal business destinatio­n as it has the potential for fostering entreprene­urship and innovation.

“Botswana offers a supportive ecosystem for entreprene­urs and businesses to thrive,” he stated.

According to the CEO, the insurer has achieved significan­t milestones including P8 million in revenues and employing over 200 people.

Iyer further emphasised the company’s commitment for further expansion, revealing plans to set up offices in Namibia, with South Africa and Zimbabwe to follow suit.

“Alpha Direct is not only focused on its own growth but also on contributi­ng to the economic developmen­t of Botswana and the region,” he added.

Iyer further emphasised Alpha Direct’s dedication to providing innovative insurance solutions tailored to the needs of the local market.

“Our goal is to offer accessible and comprehens­ive insurance products that meet the evolving needs of individual­s and businesses in Botswana and beyond,” he said.
