Congratulations Anicia Gaothuse!

-

Congratulations are in order for the newly crowned Miss Botswana 2024–2025, Anicia Gaothuse! It’s your time to enjoy the crown and be all you can be.

A competition is just that, a competition. There has to be one winner. The contest had 10 beautiful young girls as finalists and unfortunately only one could wear the crown. The judges picked Anicia.

To all those who feel their contestant should have won ahead of Anicia for whatever reason, hardly; the judges found Anicia to be the best among the best, so desist from disrespecting our newly crowned queen on social media or anywhere else, for that matter!

Each of the 10 beautiful young women had supporters who felt their contestant should be the next Miss Botswana, and of course, when that did not happen, they were heartbroken as would be expected, but that does not give anyone the right to bully the newly crowned queen.

And please, fellow Batswana, desist from comparing the newly crowned queen with the Miss World Africa title holder, Lesego Chombo. Allow our current queen to run her own race. Yes, Lesego’s successes should motivate her to work harder, but that’s it! Stop putting other people down in comparison to others. We are gifted differently, and that is what makes us unique, and that is what makes the world so beautiful. We bring different characters to the table, and that should be respected and acknowledged.

Anicia, this is your time to shine. Please, under no circumstances, do not lose hope or find yourself falling prey to criticism by individuals who just enjoy complaining and offer nothing but toxicity in other people’s lives.

Shine bright like our diamonds; you are yet another ambassador who will represent us on the international stage. Batswana will be rallying behind you all the way.

Let’s allow those who are bitter to cool off first; they shall join us along the way.

You are our queen, we love and support you. We will be cheering for you every step of the way.

We know when the time comes for you to represent us on the Miss World stage, you will do your best!

There are many things that you can accomplish as a queen! You have now become a role model to your peers and the younger generations.

Nowadays, our country is plagued with so many social ills; more and more young children are hooked on drugs, and teenage pregnancies are on the rise; these are some of the issues that you can tackle.

As a queen, your voice will be louder and more audible, meaning youngsters will most likely listen to you and take advice from you! Shine, our queen, shine!
