DARK DAYS FOR DAMTSHAA MINE BRANDO BACK ON RADIO

-

In some unfortunate news, it appears

LEFT IN LIMBO:

government has taken the decision to shut down Damtshaa mine and it’s number 1 plant, which will leave 500 people unemployed.

Social media gave thoughts on the issue.

“It’s so painful to be left unemployed with Christmas around the corner,” stated one comment, while another was skeptical about the scheduled reopening. “So the mine will be reopened a year before elections? Interesting.”

Trying to shed some light on the issue, a seemingly informed commentator explained, “You first need to understand the Diamond business. It is not the first time the operations are closed due to low Diamond offtake, and every time Damtsaa and Letlhakane mines go through such, the staff is re-deployed temporarily to Orapa and Jwaneng Mines while the other keep the plants on care and maintenance.”

The pandemic has surely hurt us. Hopefully we can find a way to turn this around as soon as possible.

Two years after he was shown the exit door, local entertainer, Brando Keabilwe, has rejoined the Yarona FM breakfast team.

A proven talent, Brando will be replacing Scar on the Big Breakfast Show. Some people on social media are happy to have Brando back but others are a little salty that new talent was not given a shot.

“I’m a fan of Brando but I’m tired of this recycling of radio station presenters,” said one comment. Another reply predicted, “Scar will be back again in 2 years time.”

Is it time for fresh blood on our radio stations?
