BUSHIRI TAKES FLIGHT THE ‘267’ DEBATE
Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) leader, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, and his wife fled back to Malawi less than a week after being granted bail by a South African court. It is unclear how they managed to leave the country but they released a statement claiming they fear for their lives in South Africa.
Social media was quick to share thoughts, conspiracy theories and memes.
Some believe Bushiri was smuggled by the Mafia that helps traffic humans and stolen cars. “The escape of a criminal like Bushiri once again confirms that this ANC government is just another African joke,” blasts one comment.
The South African government has since issued a warrant of arrest for the Bushiris and revoked their bail.
This movie known as 2020 is a real nail-biter, I wonder if it will have a happy ending for the Prophet and his wife?
Local artist, Obado, recently posted on his social media that with the popularity of the new happening spot 267, the restaurant/lounge should pay homage to Mane Dilla for making ‘267’ a brand.
Most people would associate 267 as Botswana’s calling code for international calls.
However, Obado is adamant his rap colleague is responsible for the popularity of the brand 267, which he reasoned was one of the driving forces behind the restaurant’s success.
An unconvinced commentator responded, “Mane Dilla made
phone calls popular? I thought people have been making international calls for years.”
