EX DEBSWANA MD LAUNCHES BOOK

Balisi Bonyongo unveils ‘Purpose To Victory; Leadership Through God’s Eyes’

- BY KABELO ADAMSON

FORMER Debswana Managing Director, Balisi Bonyongo, has unveiled his book titled ‘Purpose To Victory; Leadership Through God’s Eyes’.

Speaking at the launch of his book on Saturday, Bonyongo, who is also a pastor, said he was inspired by what he has gone through in the corporate world, church, and his personal life to pen a book that allows him to share his experiences.

“With all these lessons, why would I hide Christ under the table when I go out to speak to the world, so I said I would then pen a book that allows me to be me, and show up,” he proudly revealed.

Bonyongo says when he does show up, he does so by referencing God always.

“I would be a liar if I tell you I put my trust and dependency on man. We all know how we are as human beings, you trust me today, tomorrow the trust is gone,” the former Debswana MD said.

Unlike other books on leadership, as his book states - ‘Leadership Through God’s Eyes’ used Bible quotes to drive through his message on leadership.

He revealed that for him, writing the book was personal because he was born from a society that has allowed him to experience the worst and also the best of life.

“It is my job not to talk, speak and do nothing, it is to demonstrate which I am speaking by action, not just by words,” revealed Bonyongo, adding that by launching the book, he is demonstrating that action.

He said the ‘Purpose To Victory Book’ is the beginning of a process for him to discover more of himself so that he can apply himself more to society.

“Leadership does not start from your neighbour; it starts from where you are standing. It is not good enough to watch the events of life and talk like you are teaching students at school. You have to take accountability and ownership of the events that are happening in your life,” said Bonyongo.

Leaders, he said, should not lead from hurt to pain, but must lead to healing, disclosing that he is on that journey.
