BNSC TO REVEAL THE NEW CEO SOON
Botswana National Sports Commission (BNSC) will soon have a new Chief Executive Officer following the departure of Falcon Sedimo whose contract was not renewed in September.
According to the BNSC Chairman, Marumo Marule, the engaged recruitment agency has already submitted a name, and what is left is for the sports commission to send the name to the Minister of Sport.
Four candidates including the current Acting CEO, Tuelo Serufho, Game Mothibi, Steven Botlhasitse and Styles Ntshinogang, were interviewed for the top post last month.
Speaking to Voice Sport, BNSC Chairman, Marumo Morule, confirmed that the agency gave them a name, they did their evaluation and assessment and they are fine with it. He said they are yet to submit the name to Minister Macdonald Rakgare before he can present it to cabinet.
“The final word stays with the minister unless cabinet overrules his decision. I think the process will be complete by next week and we’ll reveal the new CEO. We need a permanent person on this position, who can make decisions that’ll take local sport forward,” said Morule.
The chairman dismissed allegations that they already had their preferred candidate, and the interview was just a formality.
