TSWANAGAS LAUNCHES MOLEPOLOLE BRANCH

- BY GOFAONE KOOGOTSITSE

Tswanagas marked another milestone in its increasingly impressive history this Friday, with the launch of its Molepolole branch.

Set up in October 2017, the citizen-owned company has quickly established itself as the country’s leading supplier of household Liquefied Petroleum (LP) Gas.

The enterprise offers cylinders in 4.5kg, 9kg, 14kg, 19kg and 48kg, with the brand’s distinctive yellow branding fast becoming a common sight in households across Botswana.

Boasting six distribution centres (Gaborone, Nkoyaphiri, Kanye, Orapa, Maun and now Molepolole) and two depots (Mmamashia and Francistown), Tswanagas delivers to customers for free.

Giving an insight into the procedure conducted during deliveries, Business Development Manager, Phindile Lukashe, disclosed, “Our easy to spot summer yellow delivery vehicles deliver to households upon dispatch from our state of the art call centre reachable between 0730hrs to 2200hrs from Monday to Sunday.

“Upon delivery, our clean, disinfected cylinders are weighed,

connected by our technicians. A leak test is administered and satisfied all in order, the customer is then presented with an invoice with all corresponding information.”

In his keynote address at last week’s launch, Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Kabo Morwaeng, described the occasion as a welcome development at a time when Covid-19 has decimated the economy.

“Government is in need of development partners to assist in creating sustainable jobs for Botswana. The fact that the Tswanagas Group has responded to this need is very plausible and we are thankful,” praised Morwaeng, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Molepolole South.

For his part, Tswanagas Chairperson and Molepolole native, Aryl Ralebala, said he was proud to set-up an outlet in his home village.

Providing background into the history behind Tswanagas, Ralebala revealed it took five years to get the business up-and-running because of regulatory framework and issues such as licencing and environmental assessment.

With a staff complement of 85, the company is targeting further expansion soon.
