Conducted at Sefalana Setlhoa in Gaborone, the draw marked a fitting climax to Sefalana’s 13-week competition, which ran from October to January and was worth P1.75 million in total. All 29 Sefalana Shopper stores took part in the nationwide initiative, with three winners picked from each store. First prize was worth a cool P24, 000, broken down into monthly P2, 000 vouchers for 29 lucky individuals. Second prize winners walked away with P1, 500 every month for a year, while third place received P1, 000 every month for a year. Speaking at Saturday’s draw, Sefalana Marketing Executive, Reggie Klinck explained that to enter the competition, shoppers simply had to purchase any of the three participating products included in the promotion. “A customer had to spend a minimum of P150 and would qualify to enter the competition. Then you would be given an entry form, fill it and drop it into the entry box; that’s all you had to do!” clarified Klinck, adding that throughout the promotion each store held weekly draws, with P500 given away every week. “At the end of the competition, all entrants were brought into the main box for the grand finale so that they also stood a chance to win the big prize,” he continued. Klinck explained that in past promotions, Sefalana have alternated between cash and vouchers as prizes, with the company depositing the cash into the winners’ account. “This time around we decided to give away vouchers,” he said. The vouchers are specific to Sefalana and cannot be spent anywhere else. Klinck noted that as well as promoting customer loyalty, this further benefits the winners as it allows them to profit from the company’s ‘Sefelana Rewards’ scheme. “Every time a customer buys any goods at Sefalana, the Rewards Card accumulates some cashback points which can be redeemed at a later date,” highlighted the Marketing Executive. “You can also do what is called ‘Bank your change’, which we recently launched. What happens is that, for every purchase you make using cash and there is change, you can bank part of that change or all of it in the Sefalana Rewards Card,” concluded Klinck.
