Signs It’s Time To Clean Out Your Closet

It’s that time of the year where we need to review our clothes. With the new year, we are bound to feel like we have to upgrade our wardrobe or buy new clothes - which is mostly not the case.

Here are some of the solutions on how to assess if you need a wardrobe upgrade or take out clothing you don’t need. should be on the frontline of yo your giveaway pile. Also tak take out any pair that is s simply too beat up to r repair - they’re just wasting your space.

Problem 2: Your wardrobe doesn’t f fit into your c closet.

Solution S Tip: When you can’t ca squeeze one more jacket in your coat closet, and you’re thinking th about buying a rolling rack to house your spillover, it’s time to clean out your coat wear and toss out the outdated ones. Keep versatile and transition­al jackets. You can also opt to buy a closet divider for easy access.

Problem 3: You haven’t put something on in at least two years, but you’re planning on wearing it…eventually. And some still have a tag! yourself wasting tons of time hunting for your favorite skirt or shirt? This simply means your closet isn’t organised properly.

Solution Tip: Try storing your clothing by make category or colour – class pants, jeans, jerseys, tops, dresses, shirts and jackets - to make your search easier and save time.

Problem 5: You have 10 tweed jackets, 9 Khaki chinos…and counting.

Solution Tip: You probably buy an unhealthy amount of one item in particular like jackets, suits, striped shirts or sneakers in search of the perfect version. We get it, but it’s time to address the issue. If you have more than five of the same piece, you need to edit, give some away or try everything on, and only keep your favourites.

Problem 6: You claim you “have nothing to wear,” yet your closet is brimming with clothes.

Solution Tip: Edit often, pack and fold your clothes in categories to clearly see and locate everything easier.

Problem 7: If you haven’t worn an item in the past year, consider it clutter.

Solution Tip: We have two major exceptions: if something’s an investment piece (store it) or great vintage piece (again, store it) If you’re more of a functional dresser, however, organising by category could be better for you. Hanging jackets with jackets and T-shirts with T-shirts makes it easy to build outfits without pulling everything out at once.
